We are sad to announce that on August 20, 2024, at the age of 95, James Smylie Thicke in Hastings, Ontario, born in Schenectady, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact James had on those he encountered along his journey. Though James may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

He was predeceased by: his son William; and his son-in-law Chris. He is survived by: his wife Nina; his brother Robert (Mary); and his children, Carol (Will), Gail and Doug (Kim). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
