He was predeceased by: his siblings, William "Bill" Hedges (Gayle), Charles Hedges (Joan), Edward Hedges (late Joyce), James "Jim" Hedges (Joyce), Margaret Klie (late Maurice) and Florence Sellars (late Robert); and his siblings-in-law, Donald Hernandez (Karen), Sandra Burke (Allan) and Joyce Ford (late Charles).

He is survived by: his wife Mary Jean (Hernandez); his sons, Bradley Hedges (Ellen) and Scott Hedges (Juliana); his grandchildren, Jason, Amanda, Kyle and Evan; his sisters, Gladys Rayner (late Robert), Elsie McDonald (late Duane) and Elaine Richardson (Earl); and his brothers-in-law, Albert Hernandez (Cheryl), Daniel Hernandez (Penny) and Gary Hernandez (Janet). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
