He was predeceased by: his wife Susan Carol (Magee); and his brother Ray. He is survived by: his friend Loretta Desbien; his children, Elgie Jr. La Butte (Dawn Blackburn), Robert La Butte (Tracey), Susanne La Butte and Sandra La Butte (Janet Sercombe); and his siblings, Nelson La Butte (June), Bernice, Nora and Geraye. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
