He was predeceased by: his siblings, Bonnie Koeslag, Larry Shannon and Wayne Shannon; his parents, Edward Shannon and Norma Shannon (Chambers); his parents-in-law, Arnetta and Bruce Sothern; and his siblings-in-law, Pauline and Bill Weber.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Shannon (Sothern); his children, Michael, Janice Shannon (Tuck), Brianna, Kurtis Dykstra, Ian Shannon and Laura Harrison; his grandchildren, Macy, Alvina, Leah, Olivia and Madelyn; his siblings, Jim (Susan Shannon), Sharon (Bruce Kaufman), Gerald (Susan Shannon), Jack (Wilma Shannon) and Dave (Elaine Shannon); and his siblings-in-law, Robert Koeslag, Lynda Shannon, Gordon and Velma Sothern.
