He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman McLeod and Edith McLeod (Scharf); and his sister Heather Sabourin. He is survived by: his wife Lori McLeod (Dent); his children, Hope, Brent Berfelz of Listowel, Matthew, Emilia McLeod of Ottawa, Grant McLeod and Sydney Benson of Prince George, BC.; his grandsons, Barrett and Watson; and his siblings-in-law, Paul Sabourin of Ottawa, David, Cathy Dent of Chatham, Carol, Tim Austin, Patricia Dent of Listowel, Jonathan, Susan Dent of Waterloo, Esther, Matthew Wyzinski of Coburg and Peter Dent of London. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
