He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Lee Renton; and his siblings, Anna Robinson (late Howard), Eleanor Lyons (late Neil), George Renton, Jim Renton and Emilie Mooney.

He is survived by: his children, Christine (Keith Pollock) of Waterloo, Fraser (Mengdi Lui), Tanner, Garret, Joanne (Christopher McElroy) of Kitchener, Caitlin, Heather (Chad Routliffe), Matthew, Darin Renton (Keri Johnston) of Toronto and Daniel Renton (Dylan) of Southington, Connecticut.; and his brothers, Robert Renton (Eileen), William Renton (Gertie) and Douglas Renton (Gisela).
