She was predeceased by: her spouse Gord Pitts; and her parents, James Buttress and Mary Buttress. She is survived by: her sons, Gordon Pitts Jr., Mike Pitts (Cindy) and Steve Pitts (Suzana); her grandchildren, Amanda, Michael Jr., Stephen, Amber, Melissa, Sarah and Katelyn; and her brother Jim Buttress.

Donations: As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

“Gord, Mike, Steven and family. We are so sorry to hear of your moms passing. I am so thankful that we reconnected a few years ago and I enjoyed some lovely breakfast "dates" with her. She holds a very special place in my heart and always has...even when I was a teen, she was one of my favourite people (why else would I have let her pierce my ear with a needle and no ice!!)
