He was predeceased by: his father-in-law Orval Becker; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Ahrens and Terry Becker. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Becker-Messerschmidt; his children, Alex Messerschmidt of Owen Sound and Joy Messerschmidt of Durham; his siblings, Paul Messerschmidt (Susan), Judy Schreinert (Ron), Wendy Ahrens of Hanover, Faye Lantz (Paul) of Cambridge and Lorie Jarvis (Allan) of Alberta; his mother-in-law Marion Becker; and his brother-in-law Michael Becker (Melissa). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews and their families, friends, co-workers and family pets.
