He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Schenk and Emma Schenk; and his siblings, Ken (Wilma Schenk) and Joan (Ken Zukbrigg). He is survived by: his wife Verna of Hanover; his daughter Susanne Schenk (Beverly) of Neustadt; his grandsons, Gerald (Keri), Cody (Jill) and Brock (Jess); his great grandchildren, Kayla (Ryen), Owen (Sarah), Curtis (Bridgette), Rachel, Sawyer and Cole; and his brother Garnet Schenk (Alice) of Gravenhurst.

Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Trinity Lutheran Church, Ayton would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
