He was predeceased by: his parents, Marino and Domenica; his mother-in-law Teresa Portolesi; and his brothers, Giovanni (Rosina), Biagio (Lucia) and Francesco.

He is survived by: his wife Paula; his sons, Michael (Yvonne) and Andrew (Julia); his grandchildren, Samantha and Adriano; his siblings, Armando (Irma), Antonetta (Nicola) and Ginetta (Alessandro); his sisters-in-law, Carmela Trimboli and Mary Trimboli (Domenic); and his father-in-law Domenico Portolesi. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Romolo's memory can be made to the Toronto General Transplant Clinic and Princess Margaret Hospital.
