He was predeceased by: his father Fernando Silva; his parents-in-law, Manuel and Maria Melo; and his brothers-in-law, John (Nellia) and Peter (Nellie).
He is survived by: his wife Elvira; his children, Jonathan, Stephen and Katherine; his mother Fernanda Silva; his siblings, Martha (Carlos), Rui (Lucelia) and Nelia (Antonio); and his brother-in-law Joe.
