He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Doa Van Dao and Doan Thi Luu; his wife Dung Le; and his children, Thuy Thi Dao and Chung Van Dao. He was also cherished by five grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 24th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Bay Gardens Funeral Home (947 Rymal Rd E, Hamilton, ON L8W3M2). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hamilton - Bay Gardens Funeral Home (947 Rymal Rd E, Hamilton, ON L8W3M2). A burial was held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mount Hamilton Cemetery (260 Rymal Rd E, Hamilton, ON L9B1C3).
