He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jane Cowan; his children, John Cowan (Sharon), Susan Baranas (Ed) and Jeffrey Cowan (Kindy); his grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Aaron, Natalie, Vanessa, Rebecca and Leah; his brother John Robert Cowan; his sister-in-law Jean Cowan; his nephews, Brad Cowan and Doug Cowan; and his niece Jane McIntyre.
