He was predeceased by: his wife Catharina; and his siblings, Wim, Cor, Gerrit, Rinus, Ijsbrand, Marie, Martha, Cathrien, Annie, Peter, Kees and Petrus.
He is survived by: his children, Sunniva (Boris), Beverly (Jim) and John Jr. (Evelyne); his grandchildren, Tobias and Justine; and his siblings, Paul (Clara), Truus and Sjaak (Sina).
