It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Evelyn Lumsden in Hamilton, Ontario, born in Edmonton, Alberta, who passed away on February 22, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Lumsden; her parents, Annie Shewchuk and Frank Shewchuk; her siblings, Dorothy (John Alexiuk), Marion Sponagle, Zenovia Shewchuk, Harry (Frances) and Ernie (Dorothy); and her friend Lorraine Van Dyk.
She is survived by: her children, Cathy and Stuart; her friends, William, Ben and Elizabeth Ferguson; and her nieces, Michele Sponagle, Susan Kalles and Cheryl Warren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bay Gardens Funeral Home (947 Rymal Rd E, Hamilton, ON L8W3M2).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Evelyn's memory to The Kidney Foundation of Canada or The Arthritis Society Canada.
