He was predeceased by: his spouse Hannelore Wedmann; and his brother Roland. He is survived by: his children, Karen (Roger) and Michael (Lisa); his grandchildren, Garrett (Melissa), Nicole (Geoffrey), Luke and Carleigh; and his great grandchild Emmitt. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to Haliburton Highlands Health Services Foundation (HHHS Foundation) would be appreciated by the family.
