He was predeceased by: his brother Grant (Barb); his parents, Roy and Una (Awde); and his siblings-in-law, Bob (June), Janet Butchart (late Ron) and Don (Fran).

He is survived by: his wife Norma (McKnight); his children, Russ (Susan), Ron (Luisa), Connie (Joe) and Debbie (Rob); his grandchildren, Michael, Karen, Kevin, Ray, Ashley, Stefanie, Anthony, Tucker, Abbey and Shelby; his sister Donna; and his siblings-in-law, Russell (Sally) and Joyce Shank (Cliff).
