He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcel Vanexem and Julia Wils; his wife Paula De Coensel; his son Ralph Vanexem; and his siblings, Louise, Ralph Vanooteghem, Gerarda, Pete Hurkens, Gerard (Josie) and Andrea Delporte (Andre).
He is survived by: his children, Linda Goddard (Keith), Joseph (Betty), John (Chevien), Theresa Freund (Paul), Julie Vanexem (late Steve Harris) and Mary Simpson (late Doug); and his siblings, Simone Verhulst (late Etienne), Astrid Van Ryswyck (Pete), Joseph, Maria Van Ryswyck (late Harry), Paul (Carol) and Godlieve Duyck (late Chris). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church.
