He was predeceased by: his father Grant Hammond; and his children, Jonathan Hammond, Preston and Kincardine. He is survived by: his mother Anita Hammond; his sons, Michael (Laura) and Benjamin (Victoria) of Acton; his grandsons, Sam, Will and Jackson Hammond; his sisters, Patricia Heimpel (Brian) and Linda Roeder (Gerry); and his nieces and nephews, Wendy, Ashley, Jeff, Kevin and Tim.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Wellington in Guelph.
