He was predeceased by: his parents, Marilyn (Pickering) and Gordon McDonald; and his sister-in-law Jennifer Wahlroth. He is survived by: his significant other Susan Wahlroth; his children, Duncan McDonald, Chelsea Suggitt, Devon Suggitt, Gordie, Maeve and Jack McDonald; his sister Lori Thomas; his nieces and nephews, Robyn and Brynlee (Tom Brown); his brother Paul McDonald; and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Wahlroth, Michael Wahlroth (Vera Wahlroth), Michael Wahlroth Jr., Anne Macdonald, Riley and Carter. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Donations can be made in Mark's memory to Community of Hearts Lifelong Learning Centre or the Guelph General Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
