He was predeceased by: his wives, June Smith and Faye Dodds; his siblings, Maitland Button (Marion Button) and Cecil Cranston (Mary-Belle Cranston); and his parents, Cecil Button and Inez Button.
He is survived by: his significant other Valerie Chappel; his children, Wayne Button, Jennifer Short-Button of Meaford, Brennan, Tracy Button of Drayton, Jason and Lilia Diltz of Orangeville; his siblings, Douglas (Francis Button), Lois (Wesley Nelson) and Linda (Donald Liebock); and his siblings-in-law, Robert, Karen Lazenby, John and Pat Lazenby.
