He was predeceased by: his parents, James and Kate; and his sister-in-law Irene. He is survived by: his wife Susan; his children, Rebecca Morris (Eric) and Daniel Atkinson (Sarah); his grandchildren, Charlotte, Elijah, William and James; his brother Andrew (Connie); his brother-in-law Stephen (Susan); and his nieces and nephews, Sam, Alexei, Katie and Ruth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the University of Guelph's Jim Atkinson Athletics Scholarship Fund or to Wild Ontario, an environmental and science education program which was close to Jim's heart.
