He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Bert and Tiena (Wolting); his siblings, Jane (late Mark), Janie (Hank), Tim, Mary (Hilbert), Ruth (Ralph), Arthur and Rose (Fred); his significant other Dianne (Hoftyzer); his children, Brent, Sophia (Andrew), Nataschia (Mike), Quentin (Angela), Justin (Natalee), Jordan (Crystal) and Vanessa (Matt); his great grandchildren, Alana (Colin), Chanel, Madison, Corey (Krysten), Shaniah, Darian, Chloe, Nash, Lyla, Avery, Annie, Skye, Zac, Owen, Tyler and Gavin; and his granddaughter Clara. He was also cherished by his 16 grandchildren.

Of greatest importance to John was providing a spiritual foundation for his family and openly sharing his love for Christ with those around him.
