He was predeceased by: his wife Karen; his parents, Louise Weiss and John Weiss; and his brothers, George and John Jr..

He is survived by: his siblings, Elisabeth and Walter (Patty); his children, Chris and Sara (Gerard); and his stepchildren, Shannon (Matt) and Cody (Michelle).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
