He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha and Rudolf; his daughter Melanie; and his brother Siegesmund. He is survived by: his wife Elfrieda; his children, Chadwick (Camille Fortin), Andrew and Angela (Shane Wiebe); his grandchildren, Joelle and Josiah Wiebe; and his sister Joanna Kalau.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rudy's honour to the Alzheimer Society of Huron and Perth County.
