He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Olive Schell; his children, Raymond (Anna), Sandra (Russ) and Beverley (Bruce); his grandchildren, Jeremy (Dee), Matthew, Patricia (Dwayne), Sheila (Rob), Michael (Maria), Steven (Kathryn) and Jason; and his great grandchildren, Kane, Paige, Tiarah, Kurah, Tye, Karissa, Austin (Taylor), Ceejay and Thomas.
Donations may be made in Stanley's honour to the Canadian Diabetes Association or South Muskoka Memorial Hospital.
