He was predeceased by: his wife Muriel Pilger (Smith); his daughter Marilyn Rupert (Cliff); his parents, Herman Pilger and Hazel Pilger; and his siblings, Winnifred James (Tom), Fred and Victor (Loretta).

He is survived by: his children, Bryan (Linda), Bonnie Fraser (Art) and Terry (Wendy); his grandchildren, Tracy, Doug, Christopher, Sherrie (Stuart) and Michael (Kate); his great grandchildren, Jessica, Noah and Breanna; and his great great grandchildren, Madison and Philip.

Donations to The Salvation Army or The Lions Foundation of Canada greatly appreciated.
