He was predeceased by: his siblings, Derek (Tammy Rau) and Shawn (Cathy Rau); his parents, Robert Hallman and Elaine Hallman (Plauntz); and his parents-in-law, Patsy and Tony Rau.

He is survived by: his significant other Kim McCann (Rau); his child Jordan Hallman; his grandchildren, Olivia, Camryn, Brees, Hayes and Bowen; his siblings, Annette (Kevin Williamson), Diane Ernteman (Bob David), Brenda (Ron McDonald), Sherri (Steve Harrison) and Joe Rau (Carolyn Rau); and his aunt Eleanor Hunt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
