He was predeceased by: his parents, William Stuart and Clara Ellen Mary Cowan (Whitmell). He is survived by: his wife Jo-Ann Elizabeth Cowan (Pettit); his sons, Will Cowan (Dianna Puzara) of Port Franks and Sam Cowan (Cameron Derry) of London; and his siblings, Sheila Ellerton of Bronte, Betty (Andy Mueller), Don (Sharon Cowan), Marvin (Judy Cowan), Walter (Wendy Cowan) and Rick (Gayle Pettit). He is also survived by his nieces, nephews.
