He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hicks and Margaret Hicks (Harken); his parents-in-law, Douglas and Naomi Edith Moorhead (Stevenson); and his in-laws, Dolores, Bruce Sedore, Betty Ann Hicks, Charles, Claudia Moorhead, Louise Wagg and Linda Moorhead.

He is survived by: his wife Kathleen "Kay" Edith Hicks (Moorhead); his sons, Brian (Deborah Hicks), James (Diane Hicks) and John Hicks (Cathy Inkster); his grandchildren, Brent, Kimberly Hicks, Aaron Hicks, Melanie Tyler, Courtney, Luke Lane, Sean Hicks, Laura Hicks and Jason Dos Reis; his great grandchildren, Lincoln Hicks, Dana Hicks, Bethany Hicks, Henry Lane, Barrett Hicks and Lucas Dos Reis; and his brother-in-law Winston Moorhead of Whitby. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews.
