She is survived by: her children, Melissa Brandsma (Wayne Ellis) of Cambridge, Paul Brandsma (Catherine Bell) of Guelph and Vanya Mathews of Kitchener; her grandchildren, Kaleb Da Costa and Arya Da Costa; and her siblings, John, Margot Maathuis, Karen and Rick St. John.
