He was predeceased by: his parents, William Farnsworth and Myrtle Tooke Farnsworth. He is survived by: his wife Beth Abraham Farnsworth; the fathers of children, Carl (Wilma), Joe and Pete (Patty); and his grandchildren, Laura, Bryan, Mike (Mariah) and Chris. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.

Donations may be made in Mel's memory to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
