He was predeceased by: his wife Elsie (Essex); his parents, Margaret Hulley and Jack Hulley; his daughter Donna; his siblings, Robert, Norman and Mary; his siblings-in-law, Doug Haldenby, Don Shinkle, Garth Blanchard, Don Hunking, Ab Essex and Myrna Hunking; and his parents-in-law, Lola Atkinson and Clarence Essex.

He is survived by: his children, Bev Lecomte, Betty Popp (Paul), Sandra Popp (Steve), John "Hoob" Hulley (Kim) and Norm Hulley (Melyni); his grandchildren, Lauren (Corey), Thomas (Olivia), Shawna (Justin), John, Aaron, Matt (Mel), McKenna (Cori), Shelsie, Taylor (Drew), Ally, Adelline and Nathan; his great grandchildren, Jace, Isabella, Dylan, Bayden, Cayden, Sam, Cole, Carter and Mason; his siblings, Lawrence (Joan), Warren (Sharon) and Gladys Haldenby; and his siblings-in-law, Nancy and Joe Essex.
