He was predeceased by: his wife Marie; his parents, Leo Salm and Ethel Salm; and his siblings, Joanne, Mike and Gerald.

He is survived by: his children, Marcia Bakelaar (Steve), Mark Salm (Magdalena) and Crystal Salm (Tom); his siblings, George (Loretta), Pearl and Bruce; and his grandchildren, Kyle and Kiersten Bakelaar.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 6th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the McCallum & Palla Funeral Home (11 Cambria Rd N, Goderich, ON N7A2N8). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 6th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Dave's memory.

Our friendship continued and we always enjoyed our visits at Aberfoyle. Your Dad always came to visit with us when we were camping at Point Farms at Thanksgiving.
