He was predeceased by: his parents, Helvi Niemela and Alf Niemela; and his mother-in-law Violet Binsted. He is survived by: his wife Ann; his children, Riley and Gillian; his father-in-law William Binsted; his sister Nancy Niemela of Mexico; and his siblings-in-law, Jane Binsted and Wayne Pushka.
