He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Vieira and Almerinda Vieira. He is survived by: his spouse Iria; his children, Mary-Ellen Vieira (Octavio), Maria Vicente (Jack), Artur Vieira (Christina) and Susy Cockburn (Jason); and his siblings, Maria Dos Anjos Vieira and Carlos Vieira Maria Sofia (Aldora).
