She was predeceased by: her parents, Ross Ferrier and Eileen Ferrier; her brother Don Ferrier (late Fran); her husband Irwin Shaw; and her daughter Deborah Nixon (late Tom).

She is survived by: her daughter Susan McClure (Robert); her grandchildren, Melissa Richer (Adam), Shawn Nixon (Jen), Ryan McClure (Kassie), Kyle Nixon (Carmen) and Michelle Davies (Reese); and her great grandchildren, Eliana, Eden, Luke, Liam Richer, Blake, Cohen Nixon, Emmeline, Isla McClure, Logan, Lyla Nixon, Kendall, Lincoln and Quinn Davies. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and close friends.
