He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Milan Barbir and Ankica; his siblings, Zdravko [Steve] and Zdenka; his daughters, Maya (Nico), Darya and Sonja; his stepsons, Francis, John (Nicole), Patrick and Chris; his niece Dagmar; his nephews, Morris (Emily) and Daniel; and his wife Monika Buckley.
In 2020 Boris joined efforts with Brad Cairns to produce facial masks during the Covid 19 pandemic.
