She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Penasse and Matilda Penasse; her husband Alexander; her son Mike; and her siblings, Michael, Mary Jane Beaucage (late David) and Dorothy.
She is survived by: her children, Jane Commanda (Marc), Theresa Commanda (Bruce), Rhonda Beaudette (Randy), Chris (Henrietta), Lindsay Commanda (Ben) and Shelley Commanda; and her siblings, Liz Hazell (Mike), Stella Solomon (Robert), Luke (Diane), Andy (April) and Connie Leslie (Gord). She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews.
