She was predeceased by: her parents, James Buist and Kathleen Buist; her husband Stan; her son Jim; and her sister Kay.

She is survived by: her children, Linda Smith (David), Brenda Allen (Wayne), Gerry (Dori) and Shelley Douglas (Bill); her grandchildren, Christina (Andrew), Jason (Melanie), Jennifer (Ryan), Jacob (Kate), Breanne (Derek) and Abigail; her great grandchildren, Rowan, Coby, Troy, Will, Ross and Finn; and her sisters, Dorothy Saunders and Shirley Reynolds. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
