She was predeceased by: her parents, Lorne Aljoe and Helen Aljoe of Durham; her husband James Edgar Patterson (Ed) of Durham; her siblings, Norma Barrett, Lorna Zaduk, Vernon, William, Arthur and Murray Aljoe; and her siblings-in-law, Isabelle Aljoe, Bill Zaduk and Dave Burgess.

She is survived by: her son Jason Patterson (Carole); her grandson Bryce Patterson; and her sisters, Helen Smith, Doreen Fryer, Ada (Harry Styles), Beatrice (Hartmut Ridderbusch) and Sharon Burgess.
