He was predeceased by: his parents, Ken Ryder and Jeanne Ryder. He is survived by: his siblings, Marilyn Watson (Dave), Keith Ryder (Adrianne) and Kent Ryder (Rhonda); his nephew Chris Watson (Tara); and his nieces, Tracey Watson (C. Ballard) and Verity Ryder (Dave Clark).

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Sick Children's Hospital Toronto and Heart and Stroke Foundation.
