He was predeceased by: his wife Norma Jean Kennedy; his parents, Arthur Goldsmith and Edith Goldsmith; and his siblings, Fred Goldsmith and Joy Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, David Goldsmith (Sherry) of Ottawa and Margaret "Maggie" Goldsmith (Peter Stumpf) of Buckhorn; his grandchildren, Alexander Goldsmith (Claire Mahaffy) of Eganville, Benjamin, Matthew Goldsmith, Timothy, Abygale, Duncan and Sarah Stumpf; his siblings, Jeanne Kaye (Bob Axford) of Windsor, Dick Kaye (Grace), Larry Kaye (Bev) of Chatham and Mary Kaye (Jim Barby) of Waterloo; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Johnson of Ottawa and Florence Kennedy of Newmarket. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
As expressions of sympathy, the family encourages donations which follow the example of Jim's broad philanthropy within the community.
