He was predeceased by: his wife Marjorie; his parents, John and Mildred; and his brothers, Irvine (Agnes) and Emerson.

He is survived by: his children, James (Susanne Bernard) of Oakville, Janice (April Currie) of Mississauga and Jeff (Katie Pratt) of Burlington; and his grandchildren, Nicholas (Katherine Mandl-Beaton), Spencer, Alison, Tyler, Elizabeth (Evan Whitman), Daniel and Matthew.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to CAMH-Canadian centre for Addiction and Mental Health or Heart and Stroke would be greatly appreciated.
