He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Ronald (Pam), Gary (Joan) and Kim; his grandchildren, Simon, Caroline Burkitt, Renee Belfare (Nivek), Dana McConnery (Craig) and Raymond Burkitt Jr. (Chloe); his brother-in-law Trevor (Catherine); and his siblings, Jean Archer (late Ray), Helen Sommervile (Bill) and Donna Donaldson (Russ). He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ray's memory may be made to Groves Memorial Hospital.
