She was predeceased by: her mother Gertie Warkentin; and her brother Dave Warkentin. She is survived by: her husband Larry Peters; her children, Geoffrey Turner (Melanie Gutcher) of Brantford, Brandon Turner (Natalie) of Toronto, Joshua Van Viegen of Calgary, James Van Viegen (Katie) of London and Jessica Van Viegen of Calgary; and her stepchildren, Jordan Peters (Laura Ball) of Thorold, Kory Peters (Jolene) of Stoney Creek and Kiel Peters (Aimee Pister) of Saskachewan.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Karen's memory may be made to the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund.
