She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Albert Weber and Lina Weber (Lutze); her former spouse Günter Jakelski; her spouse Eberhardt Puschel; her stepson Stig Puschel (Donna) of Sudbury; her children, Dorothea Smith (Bruce) of Fergus and Dave Jakelski (Bev) of Sandy, Utah; her nephews, Grant Jakelski and Klaus Jakelski (Cathy) of Sudbury; her grandchildren, Alison Wilson (Adrian) of Calgary, Michael Smith (Robin) of Fergus, Emily Smith (Rob) of Hobart, Zachary Smith of Kelowna, Ryla Gutbier (Carsten) of Berlin, Germany, Rheanne Jakelski of Sydney and Karl Jakelski of Auckland; and her great grandchildren, Maya, Jayden, Liam, Ella, Benjamin, Huxley, Vinni and Levi.

Despite the challenges of Covid, Ilse said the time turned into her own spiritual "retreat".
