He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Richard and Josie Richard (Chaisson); and his siblings, Clarence, Alvin, Wilfred, Jimmy, Alfie, Danny and Betty.

He is survived by: his wife Hilda (Petrie); his children, David of Fergus, Betty (Gerry) of Port Elgin, ON, Marc (Lisa) of Cambridge, ON and Chris (Kris) of Mannheim, ON.; and his siblings, Nora Kane (Joe), Yvonne Perry (Buddy) and Joseph (Gail). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
