He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon and Josephine; and his siblings, Wanda and Walter. He is survived by: his wife Helen; his children, Teresa (Reg Smith), Paul (Ann), Mark (Cindy) and David (Brenda); his grandchildren, Geoffrey, Genevieve Smith, Katie (Brendan Ryan), Jennifer, Spencer and Heather Lopinski; and his siblings, Henry (Anna), George (Tillie), John (late Fran) and Stella Augerman.
