We are sad to announce that on March 16, 2023, at the age of 97, Mamie Gertrude McKnight R. N. in Fenelon Falls, Ontario passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Frederick Donald McKnight; her siblings, Judson George and Phyllis Cleghorn; and her parents, Gertrude Blakely and Michael Melbourne Searle.
She is survived by: her daughter June McKnight (Junie); her son-in-law Justin Kanitz; her sister Claire Jardine (Merve); her half-siblings, Gail Nowlan (Tom), Marina Tilley (Cam), Aileen Bertin (J. P.), Bev Just (Martin) and Wayne Searle (Carol); and her brother Sonny.
By age 93, just ten months before the start of the covid19 pandemic, it was time for Mamie to transition into longterm care.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society, your local Humane Society, your local hospital, or the Black River Community Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
